To write fiction is to open the skylight of our minds, to free us of our constraining realism. She doesn't exist? Great. That could never happen in real life? Even better.

As a child, one exercised imagination by playing make-believe and House. Now, as a grown-up in the midst of daily struggles and weary truths, there is no more pretend House or even Doctor, but there is still salvation in fictional writing.....

When I read a novel, I don't just read it... I let myself be engrossed in it. It's quit amusing really... a break from my own life, I get to be a wicked witch trying to deal with her illegitimate son or a financial journalist wallowing in her own terrifying debt or even a teenage wizard who saves the world from the Dark Lord, gets the girl, and becomes a legend all by the time he reaches puberty.

I love fiction. It's a fun read... if I were to write a book it would definitely be fiction. I would want people to read my stories and live them out by their own imagination. And for that short time in their day they could be who ever they want to be.....
