Time for change, Time for prayer

I watched the inauguration today at work. I had all the kids watch it during class because I really wanted them to experience this awesome slice of history! Even without actually being at the packed Mall in DC, braving 14 degree wind chill weather, and pushing through the crowds to catch even the slightest glimpse of our new president, I was still moved by the ceremony. It's a change we all desperately need... a breathe of fresh air... new hope comes with this historical exchanging of power! And I'm still really stoked about today's events and what's to come as well!!! I hope that those who either voted for President Obama or not, that they now stand behind him in support and always pray for him and his family that God may guide him in leading our country in the right direction!

There is a song that I love and has kept coming to my mind over and over again lately and I wanted to post it because I think it fits in well with this particular blog. Our whole country is in hard times and it's probably gonna get worse before it gets better... but instead of crying about it, we need only to ask for help... for protection...

Jared and I have been hit with a few financial blows lately, the most recent one just a few hours ago... Its easy to freak out and think that our life is over as we know it! And we definitely think that.... often (we can be a bit dramatic)!! But then this song comes to my mind again and it brings me peace knowing that I know a God greater than any problem on this earth... scripture says "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper..." and my favorite line in the song goes like this:
In my hour of weakness, that old enemy tries to steal my soul
But when he comes like a flood to surround me
My God will step in and a standard he'll raise

I pray today that God be the fence around me and my husband, around the one reading this blog, and mostly around our country and those out there suffering most!!
