Back from the dead...

Wow, it's been almost a month since I've blogged, hasn't it?!! And it's been quite a busy month too.. Hmm, let me think back on a few highlights I can touch on...

* My best friend Kate moved from San Fran back to Orange County.. I completely believe it was the best decision for her, a much needed change. But I miss her a lot more now that she's 6 hours away than when she was only an hour and a half away. I'm a little nervous about how much I may miss her once I move across the US this summer!

* Jared and I took my brother and his friend Christian on a snow trip to Boreal and it was AWESOME! It was such a nice day and the snow was beautiful! Christian had never been to the snow so it was a lot of fun giving him that experience.. we made a snow man face named carl (who we later roundhouse kicked!), we made snow angels, and had a good old-fashion snowball fight (actually I didn't take part in it.. just the boys, and it was vicious!! nothing "good" about it! haha) Enjoy some pics!!

* I've been working a lot, thankfully!! One class that has a hold on me is the emotionally disturbed special ed class at Maze Middle School... people seem to have so many preconceived notions about these three particular kids. And yes, I agree they have problems deeper than I can handle, but they are GOOD kids... they aren't bad or evil or horrible or a waste of time!! Unfortunately they had less than ideal upbringings and now the consequences are manifesting themselves in these kids' lives, their way of thinking, their self-worth... After the first day I spent with them, I went home and cried... They now have a special place in my prayers... every child, no matter what the circumstance, is worth investing time and care into their lives... from beginning to end. No one should ever forget that! I know I won't....

* Jared and I have been going to this marriage study with a few couples from church and we are learning A LOT!!! Its really interesting cause there are couples in different ranges, some who have been married for 30 years down to, well us.. married for almost 5 months! So we are learning what to expect down the road and they are being refreshed by remembering what it was like being newly weds... we all win!

* In a few weeks Jared and I are planning an amazing road trip down to the OC to visit Kate and........ GO TO THE ELLEN SHOW!!!! I'm beyond excited.. that is all I can say... it's pretty much beyond words at this point!

* For a couple of months, due to cut backs in our jobs and unexpected expenses, Jared and I were pretty low on money... living paycheck to paycheck, barely. Our amazing parents would even help by feeding us when they could! But I had been in pray for a financial blessing from God... as stressful as our situation might have seemed, I never doubted that God would see us through. He always, always has... so why wouldn't he this time? He is, after all, faithful!! Our tax return arrived a couple days ago and that's right... it was a whole lot more than we had calculated and expected!! We are once again on track, plus more... God is good and it's just another testimony that He's got our back!! :)

Well, that's it for now.... until we meet again, take care and be blessed! (I gotta go do the dishes before my husband gets home!!! ha...)
