So I haven't blogged in a while... I've been quite busy, enjoying my week long vacation! And I suppose I haven't done anything remotely interesting enough to write about, nor have I heard anything blog inspiring lately... besides Jessica Simpson's total fatscapade on stage! PS: she's completely NOT fat!
But yesterday I did do something blog worthy! Finally...
So Jared and I visited the California Academy of Sciences museum in San Francisco and it was great! Actually, no it wasn't great... it was a hassle! Let us rewind a few days back... We first attempted to visit the museum on Valentines Day. I was sooo excited, it was gonna be the best Valentines Day ever! I was wearing one of my favorite tops and my hair was cooperating and my husband was looking extra scrumptious... the day was looking to be perfect!! By the time we arrived at Golden Gate Park, the museum had been opened for a measly two hours... no worries, right? Dead wrong!
It seemed as though everyone else had come up with the same brilliant idea as me! But thankfully we had been smart and bought our tickets online the day before.....
What kind of world do we live in where being prepared isn't even given the slightest glance of respect??
Mr. Name on his name tag I don't care to even recall still expected us to wait in the ghastly line that curled around the block.... And they were only letting a few people in as others left the museum. Needless to say, we didn't get in, I was cranky, and by that time my hair had already gone flat! So we went home and ordered chinese take-out instead, Happy Valentines Day...
But yesterday was great...
We got to the museum about 20 minutes before start time and there was a bit of a line once the doors were swung open but we were up at the front!! The first thing we decided to do was the planetarium! It was a nice sized, domed auditorium and we got really good middle seats. During the show we flew out of the museum and into outer space. We cruised around the Milky Way and even had time to visit neighboring galaxies before heading back to Earth. It was pretty sweet...
Once we landed and left the planetarium, we walked over to Africa.
We enjoyed hanging out with the lions and zebras... and even some old skulls. I don't really remember who they belonged to but I touched them!
Our visit to the swamp was quick and disappointing because Clyde, the albino alligator was gone on medical leave.... but the aquarium did not disappoint. It was awesome!!! I love looking at fish... and we even got to see Scuba Steve, live and hanging out along the Philippines reef.
After the aquarium we decided it was a good time for a hike, so we wandered over to Madagascar and trekked their rainforest! It was pretty humid... but I loved seeing the lemurs. I just wish they would have danced like they do in the movies! "I like to move it, move it!!"
We had a great time at the museum and it was definitely worth the wait, I'd say. I love Jared for taking me there before we move to Boston. That is now checked off the list.... next up, The Ellen Show!!!
